Public Notice: Hudson Regional Health Commission
Posted August 12, 2024In Compliance with sections 9.10 and 9.15 of the New Jersey Pesticide Control Code (N.J.A.C Title 7, Chapter 30), the Hudson Regional Health Commission (HRHC), Mosquito Control Unit is issuing the following public notice. The HRHC will be applying pesticides with an unmanned aircraft (a.k.a., drone) to control spotted lanternflies in Hudson County during the period of August 20 to August 22, 2024. The areas to be treated include the woodlots in the cliffs along JFK Blvd East, River Rd, Port Imperial Blvd, Anthony M Defino Way, Pershing Rd, Hamilton Ave, Manhattan Ave, and Patteson Plank Rd.
The pesticide used will bifenthrin (Omni Bifenthrin 2EC, USEPA Reg. No. 5905-626) which is recommended for the control of spotted lanternflies by the New Jersey Department of Agriculture. Products will be applied by drone flying at low altitude directly to the tree canopy as a course spray and is not expected to drift into public areas. No precautions are necessary.
