E-bikes, E-scooters, and Motor scooters are wonderful forms of alternate transportation but they must be operated responsibly and within the law. There is a recent trend of unsafe and illegal operation of certain motorized vehicles in Union City. Please take a moment to review the included State law and local ordinance requirements. To combat operation that poses a public safety risk, in June, the Police Department issued 40 summonses and confiscated multiple unregistered/uninsured vehicles.
Help us keep our community safe!
- A helmet is required for E-bikes, E-scooters, and Motor scooters.
- Lights, reflectors, and a horn/bell are required for E-bikes, E-scooters, and Motor scooters.
- E-bikes, E-scooters, and Motor scooters are not allowed on sidewalks.
- E-bikes, E-scooters, and Motor scooters operators must obey all traffic laws.
